Maldives Partners with Liverpool FC to Elevate Global Tourism Appeal
The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC), operating under the Visit Maldives brand, has entered into a multi-year global partnership with Liverpool Football Club (LFC), appointing the Maldives as LFC's Official Tourist Destination Partner. This collaboration aims to leverage LFC's extensive global following to enhance the Maldives' visibility as a premier travel destination.
The partnership is projected to attract over 100,000 additional tourists to the Maldives in 2025, potentially generating more than $100 million in tourism revenue. With LFC's global audience of over 205 million followers and a seasonal TV viewership exceeding 211 million, the Maldives stands to gain significant exposure.
Key features of the partnership include brand visibility at Anfield Stadium during Premier League home matches, targeted advertising campaigns across Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, and exclusive promotions for fans, such as opportunities to win luxury trips to the Maldives.
Additionally, plans are underway to establish a Liverpool FC Academy in the Maldives, aiming to bolster sports tourism and nurture local football talent. Both parties have also expressed a commitment to sustainability and environmental conservation, with joint initiatives focusing on coral reef protection and eco-friendly tourism practices.
